Alien Swarm and 9.7 Richter

Two things I recently added to my top 10 list of quality and free stuff (now it has 3 items). A few words about that list. It’s a short list (it has only ten items so it’s short, right?) containing my favorite 10 things in the whole world. Each of them respects my subjective quality requirements and each of them is free. Long story short: Top 10 Quality & Free Stuff. Feel free to submit any suggestion for the list (just use the comment form).

Alien Swarm. It’s not a 3D game nor a Call of Duty extraterrestrial version, but it surely is a great co-op entertaining PC game. LAN games, dedicated servers, a large number of maps, bugs (not logical errors, bugs!), weapons, heavy weapons, incredible heavy weapons/sentries and 4 players co-op mode. If you like Team Fortress you’ll probably like this one too. The official description:

Alien Swarm is a game and Source SDK release from a group of talented designers at Valve who were hired from the Mod community. Available free of charge, the game thrusts players into an epic bug hunt featuring a unique blend of co-op play and squad-level tactics. With your friends, form a squad of four distinct IAF Marine classes.

The second thing. A friend of mine told me some time ago about these guys, called 9.7 Richter. I listened to they’re tracks and suddenly started to ask around from where can I buy their records. And guess what? They’re giving Epicenter (9.7 Richter’s last album) for free. So, if you like metal/rock/trash music you’ll love ‘em too.

For the end I made a short combination of both Alien Swarm (images) and 9.7 Richter’s “Assassins”(soundtrack).
