List #3

Great new posts about Linux problems and events were posted last week, but the major buzz was LinuxCon in Brazil. With James Bottomley (Novell Distinguished Engineer and Linux Kernel maintainer), Jon Corbet(Linux kernel developer and Editor, LWN) and Ted Ts’o speaking alongside Linus Torvalds, Andrew Morton and Jim Zemlin LinuxCon is what you really shouldn’t have missed last weekend.

  • Jon Buys writes a great story about a Unix hardware vendor and then explains what being a Linux sysadmin really means.
  • Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to set a keyboard shortcut in Nautilus for the “Open in terminal” action so that when you’re in a certain folder? Read more on Webupd8.
  • An article started a must read controversial discussion on linuxsearch.com this morning.
  • Torvalds causes mob scene at LinuxCon Brazil
  • Jennifer Cloer writes an exceptional article about Chase Crum, a Linux Foundation individual member.

P.S. I know ‘this morning’ wasn’t last week but it’s a great read.
